Oh How Times Change

I can remember back at a time when an African-American would be persecuted and had little or no rights. I also remember a time when the act of homosexuality was a sin and the practicing homosexual was considered a sinner.
I also remember a time when marriage was a sacred union between a man and women. I also remember when it was a sin for a man and woman to have sex outside of marriage.
Some memories can show a dark past in our history, while other memories we still hold dear. I thank God for the gains that have been made in the civil rights for people of color.
But when homosexuals try to compare their persecutions to the civil rights protests that the African-Americans had, there is a gigantic difference.
The civil rights protests were because of sin, not the sins of the African-Americans but the sins of an unfair, unjust, prejudice of mostly white people.
The protests of the homosexual community can not in any way be compared with the civil rights movement of the African-Americans.
Homosexuals are homosexuals because of their own sins. They have chosen their lifestyle of sin.
African-Americans were born as they are. They did not chose to be African-Americans, they were born as such.
A homosexual chooses to be a homosexual! ( a homosexual is a person that commits the sin of homosexuality ).
I might be born as a heterosexual, but I do not become a adulterer or a fornicator until I commit that sin. If I have sex before marriage I would be a fornicator, if I have sex outside of my marriage then I would be an adulterer.
Either way it is my choice, I chose to stay pure or go into sin.
So it is if a person has a desire for the same sex, they become a homosexual when they yield to that weakness.
Some say you are born to be either a homosexual or a heterosexual. WRONG! You may have desires for same sex, but you chose to be a homosexual.
I believe the Bible when it calls the act of homosexuality a SIN, that it is SIN.
I believe the Bible when it calls the act of adultery a SIN, that it is a SIN.
The uproar in California over the H8 amendment is clearly a attempt to make their sin of homosexuality legitimate, which in turn would make it a hate crime to speak against it.
The Apostle Paul writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote in Romans 1:15-ff a description of what has happened in the last 50 or so years.

I rejoice in the Lord because He does not wait for me to clean up my act.
( because we can not live up to a perfect life Romans 3:23 )
I rejoice in the Lord because He forgives and cleanses. 1 John 1:9
